AN 119 FTDI Drivers Installation Guide for Windows7
FTDI have previously provided two types of driver for Windows OS: a D2XX direct driver and a virtual COM port (VCP) driver. Previously, these drivers were mutually exclusive and could not be installed at the same time. The new Windows combined driver model (CDM) which may be installed on Windows 2000, XP, VISTA or Windows 7 allows applications to access FTDI devices through either the D2XX DLL or a COM port without having to change driver type. However, it should be noted that an application can only communicate through one of these interfaces at a time and cannot send commands to the D2XX DLL and the associated COM port at the same time. The CDM driver comes in two parts. The first part is the bus layer that provides D2XX style functionality and is always installed. The second part is the serial COM port layer and the CDM driver will determine whether a COM port should be exposed by reading the EEPROM of FT232R, FT245R, FT2232D, FT2232H and FT4232H devices. In the case of FT232BM, FT245BM, devices, the CDM driver will default to always installing a COM port. This behavior can be changed and EEPROM settings ignored by changing the driver INF files as detailed in FTDI Application Note AN-107, Advanced Driver Options. Please note that modifying the INF files of a Microsoft WHQL certified driver will invalidate the Windows certification.

Polls for Blogs , twitter and face book
When you have thousands of visitors coming on to your website everyday it
almost becomes impossible to take everyone’s view about any specific topic. The best way to do it is by creating polls.
To implement this technique on one of my blogs
I have found an excellent web service that lets you create polls within a matter of seconds.
twtpoll is a free online service that allows you to create polls and post them on your blog, Twitter and Facebook. You can even share them with your friends and other social networks via email or by using the direct link. To get started all you have to do is log on to the website and
* Enter your name
* Type your poll question and
* Type in the multiple choice answers
You also have the power to give your audience the option to choose more than one answer for any specific poll. Once done click create poll and you’re done.
From here you can embed this poll on your blog and Facebook. You can even tweet it directly from the website.

How to create windows 7 bootable in USB Stick
On several occasions, you might come across situations where you don’t have access to a CD-ROM or for some other reason you couldn’t install Windows OS on your PC, notebook or netbook.
Recently, while playing with my Acer Aspire One A110 netbook, I tried installing Windows 7 on it. Since it doesn’t have any CD drive, I had to create a bootable windows 7 USB stick in order to install it on my netbook.
There are several applications i.e Ultimate Multiboot, that can make your USB bootable and even configure it to boot with Windows XP, Vista etc. But it didn’t support the latest upcoming OS by Microsoft, Windows 7.
A Bootable USB is a free application to create bootable Windows 7 USB. There are lots of online tutorials to do this manually, but it’s always better if an application does it all automatically.
The process of this tool can be explained in just 4 easy steps!
* Check USB drive
* Format USB drive
* Choose DVD or ISO image
* Start the process

Google Earth – Now Explore in moon
July 20, 1969 marks an historic day in the history of mankind when Apollo 11, the first manned spaceflight, successfully managed to land on the moon under the supervision of commander Neil Armstrong.

To celebrate the glory of this historic event, Google has decided to add a new feature to Google Earth which they are calling as the Moon in Google Earth.
As Google says:
This tool will make it easier for millions of people to learn about space, our moon and some of the most significant and dazzling discoveries humanity has accomplished together.
Also it will allow users to explore lunar imagery as well informational content about Apollo landing sites and will offer panoramic tours. This is a pretty useful educational tool that could be used by young explorers to gain knowledge about the surroundings of earth. Here is what Moon in Google Earth has to offer:
* Take tours of landing sites, narrated by Apollo astronauts
* View 3D models of landed spacecraft
* Zoom into 360-degree photos to see astronauts’ footprints
* Watch rare TV footage of the Apollo missions
Now for users of Google Earth, Sky is no longer the limit. Try out Moon in Google Earth.

How to upload photos to face book via Email
In a clever move to win the hearts of the users who don’t own high-end devices like the iPhone and Blackberry, Facebook has released a new feature that allows users to upload photos via email.
It means that now you no longer need to be jealous of your friend who uploads photos to his Facebook account all the time through iPhone, because if your phone has email
, you can do it too.

This new feature pretty much follows the same mantra that goes around for all photo-sharing services, that is, send the photos as an email attachment to a personalized (and highly weird!) email address on Facebook and the photos will be upload to your account with the subject line of the email being converted to the caption of the photo. The same method applies to posting/uploading videos through mobile too.
To get your personalized email address for posting photos/videos to Facebook through email, visit the Facebook mobile page.
As much as we believe that Facebook has joined the game pretty late, we also appreciate the efforts and thank Facebook for saving our MMS costs.
